Electoral Reforms: Only the best move of the Royal Commission

Right-wing People's Justice Party confident of the best ways to make improvements in the electoral system in this country is through the establishment of the royal commission.

Youth Force Chief Justice (Akin), Shamsul Iskandar said when contacted Tv Selangor, dolak-excuses attitude shown by the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak in the establishment of the Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) on election reform, shows that it is not more than gimmicks purely political.

So he said, only through the royal commission in the electoral system disorders could be improved.

"The question of PAS suggests the commission .. I thought it was a good move, announced Datuk Seri Najib himself in this case, we are seeing is a political gimmick to show that he was the Prime Minister's so-called responsive to matters related to elections.

"Whereas this is not just the announcement, but we want real change in terms of systems and a number of successful fraudulent method we impact," he said.

Kubang Kerian MP Salahuddin Ayub said yesterday, the attitude of 'flip flops' shown by Najib cause the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party, was discouraged to join the PSC.

In contrast, PAS continues to hold on to establish a royal commission to make the journey and the operation of a fair election and clean in the country.

Parliamentary panel on improving the electoral system will be established in October.

However on Saturday Najib who is also Umno president, said the general election to be held at 13 times and not be dependent on the PSC proceedings designed to discuss issues relating to the election.

In fact, he only said because the committee itself will be dissolved with the dissolution of parliament, whatever reforms may be implemented will be made in advance.

Malaysiakini reported that the People's Alliance will meet next Wednesday to decide together on the dishonesty of the Prime Minister and BN to reform the electoral system before the general election to 13.

The report cited a statement by the PAS information chief Datuk Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man also said, PAS will also hold a special meeting to consider participation.

In the meantime, Shamsul said, all parties should reject the establishment of the PSC and demanded the royal commission set up to clean the country's election system following the ketidakseriusan said.

"I think (PSC) should not only rejected by the PAS, but also the PR by the NGOs who are interested when we really to make a difference .. but in the same time, not ready to hear, like Malay proverb says, dogs bark the hill, do not give a significant impact on electoral system change, "he said.

Meanwhile, DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang hope He holds in principle previously to ensure that decisions made in the PSC implemented before PRU13 held.

"Now, DAP and Pakatan Rakyat will decide this matter. It was early, I welcome the proposal PSC (but) if there is a serious step and not just a basic script and this is our emphasis.

"(So) raises (question mark) that use PSC (established) if the PSC's efforts will be wasted. What is important now is to determine in the investigation of the electoral system, "he told TV Selangor.
